Leonidas F. Kallivretakis

Leonidas F. Kallivretakis was born in Chania in 1953. In 1977, he graduated from the Department of History and Archaeology at the School of Philosophy of the University of Athens. He pursued postgraduate studies in France and successfully defended his doctoral dissertation at the Sorbonne University in 1983. Since 1988, he has been working as a researcher at the National Research Foundation, where he was elected Director of Research in 2001. Among other works, he has published books and articles on the political, military, economic, and social history of the 19th and 20th centuries, the history of the city of Athens, the youth protest movements of the post-war world, and aspects of the military dictatorship from 1967 to 1974.
