Parina Douzina - Steiakaki

Parina Douzina Steiakaki was born in Boston, USA, in 1949 to Greek parents. She grew up and studied in London, where she attended the French Lycée and studied Economics and International Relations at the London School of Economics. In 1971, she moved to Athens, where she worked as a financial analyst at Hellenic Shipyards, Chase Manhattan Bank, and ETEVA. In 1981, she relocated with her family to Crete, where she engaged in translation and teaching English. In 1996, she returned to Athens and opened an office specializing mainly in corporate translations. Her short stories have been published in Nea Estia and English literary magazines such as the London Magazine, and have been broadcast on BBC radio. Her translations of Greek poetry have been published in English magazines. She has published five books, one translation, and translations of poems in an anthology.
