Jeffrey Siger

Jeffrey Siger was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He studied political science and biology at Washington & Jefferson College, as well as law at Boston University (where he received the academic honor Order of the Coif).He began practicing law at a major Wall Street law firm. There, he helped establish New York’s leading organization for independent attorneys interested in volunteer work, and served as special counsel to the Citizens’ Group responsible for reporting on conditions in New York’s prisons. His investigation into a politically charged suicide in one of these prisons resulted in a report that was featured on the front page of "The New York Times" and was described by "Newsweek" magazine as the most important example of the new informal art form: "investigative reporting."He left Wall Street to open his own law firm in New York. There, he continued to work as a partner—bringing to justice major social scandals and other sensitive public and private cases of national and international significance—until he gave it all up to devote himself exclusively to writing, among the people, life, and political reality of his beloved Mykonos, and to spearfishing in the waters of the Aegean.In his first novel, "Murder in Mykonos," he paints a vivid portrait of his beloved island—his second home for twenty-five years—as the backdrop for his satisfyingly complex plot. His other home is a farm outside New York City.
