
Harold Bloom
Harold Bloom (New York, July 11, 1930 - October 14, 2019) was a Sterling Professor of Humanities at Yale University and a Professor of English at New York University, and he also served as a professor at Harvard. His extensive body of work includes books such as "Shakespeare: The Invention of the Human," "The Western Canon," "The Book of J," and "Stories and Poems for Extremely Intelligent Children of All Ages." A member of the American Academy of Arts and Letters, he received numerous prestigious awards and honors, including the American Academy's award for his lifetime achievement in literary criticism, the MacArthur Fellowship, and many others. He was also honored with honorary doctorates from the Universities of Rome and Bologna.
