Ieronymos Lykaris

Ieronymos Lykaris was born in Athens. He participated in the anti-dictatorial struggle in Greece and abroad, and for many years afterward, he professionally served the idea of social liberation. Over time, he took on various jobs both related and unrelated to writing, traveled extensively around the world, and lived in self-imposed exile in Australia for fifteen years. In 2011, his first novel, "The Romance of Scoundrels," was published, highlighting the intricate relationships between organized crime, entrepreneurs, journalists, and politicians as both farce and tragedy. Critics described it as "flawless in every respect," "narratively delightful," a "symbolic biography of Greek corruption," and "timely as ever." This was followed by the political noir novel "Black Candies" (2013), "a requiem for the lost utopia of the 20th century," which critics also received as a "perfect example of a detective novel," where "suspense arises from social transformations [...] and human conflicts are driven by the ideological backgrounds of the characters." "Jealousy is a Knife" (2014) was the first in a series of dark comedies, where the driving force and catalyst of human actions is one of the seven deadly sins each time. "Greedy World, Fake World" (2015) was the second book in this series. Before the publication of his first novel (2011), he first published his writings in the second, third, and fourth volumes of "Greek Crimes" (2008 and 2011).
