Fotis A. Kavoukopoulos
Fotis Kavoukopoulos holds a degree in Modern Greek Philology from the University of Athens and a Ph.D. in Linguistics from the University of Paris V (Sorbonne). He serves as a philologist in Secondary Education. From 1989 to 2002, he taught at the Universities of Crete and Thessaly as a specialist scientist or lecturer, covering subjects such as general linguistics, syntactic theory, modern Greek grammar, and language teaching, among others. From 2001 to 2011, he worked on secondment at the Pedagogical Institute, where he participated in the development of curricula for language teaching and supervised the drafting of the new Grammar of Modern Greek for Gymnasium as the Institute's representative. Since 2011, he has been collaborating on the drafting of new pilot curricula for the modern Greek language. His publications focus on linguistic theory—particularly syntactic theory—ancient and modern Greek grammar, and the teaching of modern Greek as a native and foreign language. He has participated or is participating in research programs concerning the teaching of modern Greek as both a foreign and native language for middle and elementary school students.
