Eric Karpeles

Eric Karpeles is a painter. He grew up in New York and currently resides in California. He studied at Haverford College, the University of Oxford, and the New School in New York. In the 1970s, he lived in France, where he worked as a fellow painter at both the Cité des Arts in Paris and the Camargo Foundation in Cassis. He has created two monumental room-sized works, the Sanctuary Project and the Rockefeller Chapel. Karpeles writes about issues related to painting, poetry, and aesthetics.
