Alister McGrath

Alister McGrath was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and lives in Oxford. He studied chemistry at the University of Oxford and then conducted extensive postgraduate research in molecular biophysics, while also pursuing studies in theology. He is currently a professor of historical theology at the University of Oxford. He has authored numerous books and serves as an editorial consultant for Christianity Today and editor of The Thematic NIV Study Bible. In his writings and lectures, he promotes "scientific theology" and counters atheism, although he was an atheist in the past.
