Eystathios G. Dimitropoulos

Efst. G. Dimitropoulos was born in the village of Tripotama in Kalavryta in 1944. He completed his secondary education at the then six-year Gymnasium in Athens and studied at the School of Philosophy of the University of Athens, earning two degrees. He also obtained a Degree in Educational Studies from the Pedagogical School of SELETE. In 1977, with a scholarship from the Fulbright Foundation, he went to the United States for postgraduate studies at Indiana University, where he received a Master of Science and a Doctor of Philosophy. His main fields of study were educational psychology, counseling, and psychology, with a special emphasis on evaluation and research. He taught as an assistant at the graduate level at the same university for one year. Since 1974, he has been a permanent professor at the Pedagogical School of SELETE, and officially, since 1985, he has been integrated by law into the School of Health and Welfare Professions (SEYP) of the Technological Educational Institute (TEI) of Athens. Today, he teaches at SELETE and the School of Philosophy of the University of Athens, focusing on his areas of expertise. He is the head of the Department of Counseling and Guidance, as well as the Psychology-Pedagogy Laboratory of SELETE in Marousi. His main teaching, writing, and research interests are centered on Psychology, Counseling, Evaluation, and Research. His written work includes over 200 publications in books and articles.
