Eleni Manioraki

Maria Manioraki was born in Panasos, Heraklion, Crete. She completed her studies at the then-private high school of Agia Varvara, followed by high school and the Pedagogical Academy in Heraklion. Her first poetry collection, "I Sang of Love, Nature, and the Elusive," was inspired by the poetic fervor and literary atmosphere of her city. This collection received the third prize from the International Union of Greek Writers. Her first short story, "The Student of the Broken Window," along with other essays, was published in the literary column of the magazine "Career Guidance." Her short story "The Siamese Daughters" received an honorable mention in the literary competition of the Municipality of Heraklion (second commendation). Her poems are published in the local press as well as in the magazine "Spiritual Stalactites." "The Orchestra of the Gods and a Discord" is her first novel. She is married and has two sons.
