
Dimokritos Tsoukapas
Democritus Tsoukapas was born in Serres and studied Economics at the Higher Industrial School of Thessaloniki (now the University of Macedonia). He has three daughters and has been involved in writing for fifteen years. His published books to date include "Oedipal Complexes" (Malliaris Paideia Publications 2008), "The Siege of Troy" (Diavlos Publications 2011), "Forty Essays and a Letter" (ZITI Publications 2012), and the children's book "Tales of the Sky" (ZITI Publications 2013).
In addition to writing literary books, he also writes theatrical texts. In 2012, he received first prize in a national playwriting competition for the satirical drama "YUNAN" (Euripides' "Ion"), which was successfully staged by the Experimental Stage of the Northern Aegean Regional Theater. Other plays of his that have been performed by regional theaters include "Karyon" (Aristophanes' "Plutus"), adaptations of "The Doctor in Spite of Himself" (Molière), "Romeo and Juliet" (Shakespeare), and the one-act plays: "The Old Women," "The Jellyfish," "The Handcuffs," and "The Flirt."
A lover of the starry sky, he writes articles for astronomy magazines and newspapers. His unpublished works include "Through the Eyes of an Amateur Astronomer," "Stories of Ancient Madness," and "The Argo and the Golden-Fleeced Monster." He resides permanently in Peraia, Thessaloniki.
