
Mary Elizabeth Braddon
Born in London in 1837, she was educated by private tutors and worked as an actress for three years. She wrote approximately seventy-five novels, with the most famous being "Lady Audley's Secret" (1862), which brought her fame. In 1866, she founded the literary magazine "Belgravia Magazine." Her other works include "The Doctor's Wife" (1864), "Vixen" (1879), "Rough Justice" (1898), as well as the play "Griselda" (1873). She passed away in 1915 in Richmond.
