Walter De La Mare

Born in Kent in 1873 to a family of French descent. He published his first book titled "Songs of Childhood" under the pseudonym Walter Ramal. He worked for eighteen years at the offices of the Standard Oil Company in London. In 1921, he was awarded the James Tait Black Memorial Prize for fiction for his novel "Memoirs of a Midget." He also wrote poems, plays, and fantasy stories. He passed away in 1956.
