
Foteini V. Perra
Fotini V. Perra (Athens 1978) studied History at the Ionian University and completed her doctoral dissertation at the University of the Aegean (Department of Mediterranean Studies). She is a research associate at the University of Johannesburg (Department of Greek and Latin Studies). Her research interests focus on the study of relations between Byzantium and Venice (11th-15th centuries), as well as between Venice and the Ottoman Empire, and Latin rule in the Greek region (1204-1797). She is a contributor to the "Encyclopedic Prosopographical Lexicon of Byzantine History and Civilization" (for both the Greek and English editions) and a member of the editorial board of the journal "Byzantine Domos." Her articles and book reviews have been published in Greek and international journals, and her chapters are included in the multivolume "History of the Greeks." She has taught Byzantine and Medieval History at the Arcadia Center for Hellenic, Balkan and Mediterranean Studies and Research (2007), as well as at the Universities of the Aegean and Peloponnese by appointment (Presidential Decree 407/80).
