
Ioanna Mpampeta - Mpakirtzi
Ioanna Bampeta studied Social Policy and Social Anthropology at Panteion University. She conducted research on the lives of the elderly in rural Greece. She is responsible for the Reading Promotion Program at a major private educational institution, where she organizes and coordinates author presentations for kindergarten and all elementary school grades. She also maintains her own column, "Books from Around the World," in the supplement "The Magical World of Children's Books" of the online newspaper KosVoice (awarded the Kyriakos Papadopoulos Prize for the use of new technologies and especially the internet for Reading Promotion by the Circle of the Greek Children's Book, 2013).
Every month, she presents children's books in the newspaper Hellenic Gnomi, which is distributed in Canada for the Greek diaspora. She teaches Creative Writing for children's books. Since 2016, she has been the President of the Women's Literary Society.
Her books "A Rose for My Teacher" and "King Wolf" were shortlisted for the state awards. Additionally, "The Life That Remains..." was shortlisted for the Circle of the Greek Children's Book awards and the state awards. The book "My Nanny" was shortlisted for the awards of the magazine O Anagnostis. Her books "A Guitar and Many Apologies" (shortlisted for the awards of the magazine O Anagnostis) and "Easy Questions and Difficult Answers" were honored with the novel award by the Women's Literary Society. The book "Holidays on the Balcony" was shortlisted for the Circle of the Greek Children's Book awards and the awards of the magazine "O Anagnostis."
