Despoina Kaitatzi - CHoulioumi

Despina Kaitatzi-Choulioumi, MSc, is a clinical psychologist-psychotherapist who lived in Sweden, where she completed her undergraduate and postgraduate studies at the School of Applied Psychology at Uppsala University, Sweden. She then worked at the Open Unit of the University Psychiatric Clinic of the same university. She has published and presented research at conferences, including "School Integration and Learning of Greek Students in Uppsala Municipality," "Migration and Mental Disorder," "Model Psychotherapeutic Intervention for Migrants," "Students with Special Educational Needs in General Education," and "Mobile Diagnostic Team of Serres Prefecture." She contributed to the book "Approaches to the Material and Teaching of Physical Education" (2000) with topics on child psychology, published by SALTO. She taught at the Department of Physical Education and Sport Science in Serres on subjects related to psychology and special education. For two decades, she has offered her services in the field of special education, where in recent years she has worked as a psychologist at the Center for Differential Diagnosis, Diagnosis, and Support (KEDDY) in Serres, heading the Service. Additionally, she is involved in adult education and training, particularly with parent counseling groups, and is a Trainer of Adult Educators and Lifelong Learning. Her articles have been published in "Migration News," the magazine of the Federation of Greek-Swedish Associations, where she served as editor for the children's supplement "Ellinaki," under the pseudonym Electra Akrita. She was awarded the second prize for poetry (2003) by the Panhellenic Union of Writers (P.E.L.) for the poem "Refugees" and the first prize for poetry (2004) by the "Union of Writers of Serres" for the poem "Routes." She was also awarded for the short story "Tight Embraces and Flutterings" (2006) by Indiktos Publications. Her poetry collection titled "The Road" (2006) was published by the Municipality and DEPKA of Serres. Her children's poetry collection titled "Emotional Alphabet" (2009) was published by University Studio Press. Her poems have been translated into Bulgarian. She participated in the writing of University Notes titled "Assessment in Adapted Physical Education" by Ellinoudis, Th., Evangelinou, Ch., Kaitatzi-Choulioumi, D. (2009), published by the Publications Department of A.U.Th. Her articles, studies, and poems have been published in newspapers and literary magazines.
