Asimina Xirogianni

Asimina Xirogianni was born in 1975 and grew up in Athens. She studied Classical Philology and Theatre Studies at the University of Athens and Acting at the Theatre Workshop. She teaches Theatre Education in Primary Education and works as a facilitator of theatrical play. Additionally, she offers lessons in Language and Literature as well as Theory and History of Theatre. She has attended various seminars on acting, directing, and theatrical play. She has directed and staged several plays with her students, both her own and those of others. In 2009, she created the blog Varelaki - Pages of Art and Culture. She has published three poetry collections: "The Prophecy of the Wind" (Dodoni Publications 2009), "Wounds" (Gavrielides Publications 2011), "My Era is Poetry" (Gavrielides Publications 2013), and the e-book "Poems" is available for free online from Endymion Publications (2014). In 2010, her novella "His Body Became a Shadow" was published by Anatolikos Publications (commended by the Panhellenic Union of Writers and awarded the First Book Prize at the Sikeliana 2011). In 2015, her book "23 Days" was published by Gavrielides Publications and the theatrical monologue Audition by Vakxikon.gr Publications (commended by the Panhellenic Union of Writers - 2013). Her poems have been included in five collective editions. Her poems, short stories, reviews, and articles are published in various print and online magazines and blogs. Her poems have been translated into English, French, and Spanish.
