Ildefonso Falcones de Sierra was born in 1959 in Barcelona, where he works as a lawyer. His first novel, "Cathedral of the Sea," which he dedicated four years of research to, was published in 2006. It has been translated into more than 40 languages and has received significant awards. This was followed by "The Hand of Fatima" in 2009, which confirmed Falcones as the most widely read Spanish author today.
