Christina Alexandrou-Stagka was born in Athens. Her father was a naval officer, which instilled in her a love for the sea. She studied journalism, public relations, foreign languages, and English literature. She has always loved literature, but in recent years, her husband introduced her to history. The Constantinopolitan heritage of her family has fascinated her since childhood. She is married to Ioannis Stagkas and has two children. She speaks English and Italian and is learning Turkish. In her free time, she enjoys painting and traveling. "Laligül" is her debut work and is based on stories from her family.
