
CHaris Kampouridis
Haris Kampouridis is a semiotician and art historian, and the president of the Society of Visual Studies - Archive of Modern Greek Art. He has served on the programming committees of the Rhodes Gallery and the National Gallery, as a cultural advisor to the Mortgage Bank, and as an assistant professor of Communication Studies at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He studied in Greece and Aachen, where he founded the international scientific journal Code: An International Journal of Semiotics in 1977. He has published studies in conference proceedings and specialized journals, organized museum exhibitions for the Ministry of Culture, and since 1985, he has been an art critic for the newspaper TA NEA. In 1993, he was elected a member of the Academia Europaea. He was born in Komotini in 1950.
