
Grace Paley
Grace Paley (1922-2007) divided her time between New York and Thetford Hill, Vermont. She authored the short story collections "The Little Disturbances of Man," "Enormous Changes at the Last Minute," and "Later the Same Day." Her "Collected Stories" was a finalist for both the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award. She also wrote two books of poetry and an anthology of poems and prose titled "Long Walks and Intimate Talks." Paley taught at Columbia University, Sarah Lawrence College, Dartmouth College, and the City College of New York. She was honored with the Vermont Governor's Award for Excellence in the Arts in 1993, the REA Award for the Short Story in 1992, and the Edith Wharton Award in 1989.
