
Manolis Korres
Manolis Korres was born in Athens in 1948. He holds a Doctorate in Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens and a Ph.D. honoris causa from the University of Berlin. He is a member of the Central Archaeological Council, the Acropolis Monuments Conservation Committee, and other scientific committees of the Ministry of Culture and Sports. He participated in the Acropolis restoration projects (1975, 1983-1999), the works at the Dionysian Theatre (1981-1982), the study and restoration of two ancient temples in Naxos (University of Athens - TUMunchen, 1976 onwards), the Castle of Pythion in Evros (1974 onwards), and the Temple of Apollo in Mitropolis near Karditsa (1999 onwards). In November 2013, he was awarded the "International Feltrinelli Prize" for his overall contribution to the field of Archaeology and Restorations.
