Colin Thubron

Colin Thubron is considered one of the last gentlemen-travelers, continuing the tradition of English explorers. He was born in 1939 in London and studied at Eton College. He worked as an executive in publishing houses in London and New York, and as a television producer in Turkey, Japan, and Morocco. Since the late 1960s, he has been involved in travel literature. In his works, he combines history, geography, and ethnography with narrative art. In addition to travel literature, he also writes novels. Since 1969, he has been a member of the Royal Society of Literature.
