
Scott Westerfeld
Scott Westerfeld was born in Texas and studied philosophy at New York University. He has worked as a factory worker making lead soldiers, a teacher, a textbook editor, and a software designer. He has written numerous science fiction novels for young adults and adults. His work "Leviathan" made it to the New York Times bestseller lists and received several awards, including the ALA 2010 Best Book for Young Adults Choice, the 2010 Aurealis Award Winner, the 2010 Locus Award, and the 2010 ABA Best Book of the Year. It was also nominated for the 2011 Grand Prix de L'Imaginaire in France. Among his other works is the "Uglies" series, which also appeared on the New York Times bestseller list, as well as "The Last Days," "Peeps," "So Yesterday," and the "Midnighters" trilogy. He is married to author Justine Larbalestier and divides his time between Sydney and New York.
