Anastasia D. Baxevani was born in Drapetsona to parents of Asia Minor and Pontic descent. She grew up in Piraeus and worked as a secretary in shipping offices during the 1980s. However, her passion for teaching led her to the Goethe Institute in Athens, where she studied the German language. She taught from 1990 to 2010. She actively participated in reading clubs of the National Book Centre of Greece (EKEBI), presenting works by Greek and foreign poets. Since 2006, she has been curating and organizing musical and poetic evenings. She is a founding member of the Crime Fiction Reading Club of Metaichmio Publications. Her first crime novella, "There's Something Fishy About This," was included in the collective volume "The Last Journey - Eleven Noir Stories, 2009" (Metaichmio). She is a member of the Hellenic Crime Writers Club (ELSAL). She is inspired by the culture, winds, and beautiful villages of Tinos, which she often visits.
