Magia Delivoria

Maya Delivoria was born in Athens. She studied journalism at the Workshop of Professional Journalism, theater studies at the Department of Theater Studies in Athens, where she also completed her postgraduate studies, and classical singing and piano at the Attiko Conservatory. Additionally, she attended summer courses at the University of Lyon and Warsaw as a scholarship recipient from the Polish government. Since 1995, she has been working in primary and secondary education, both public and private, teaching theater education to children and teenagers. She has collaborated with the Research and Practical Applications Center of Ancient Drama "Desmi," the Ministry of Education, the municipalities of Vyronas and Ilioupoli, the General Secretariat for Youth, the Greek Diaspora, the Children's Stage "Aeroploia," the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Center, the educational institutions "Zoi" and "Modern Education," and the magazine Nea Oikologia. She has been honored with three State Awards for children's theatrical works. Her first play, titled "The Knight of Love," participated in the International Festival of Young Playwrights in Berlin (Interplay Europe) in May 1998 and in Australia in 1999, and in 2002 it won the First State Award. In 2008, "The Alphabet of Adolescence" won the Second State Award and an honorable mention from the Women's Literary Society. In 2009, her play "United Siblings, Never Defeated" received the Third State Award. Additionally, "The Alphabet of Adolescence" received the Best Book Award for Older Children from the Greek section of IBBY - Circle of the Greek Children's Book (2012) and was included in the White Ravens list of the International Youth Library in Munich (2012). She is married and a mother of three children.
