Keli Daskala
Keli Daskala was born in Kozani in 1975. She studied Philology at the School of Philosophy of the University of Crete. In 2001, she completed her Master's degree with a thesis titled "The Unruly Cities by Stratis Tsirkas and The Alexandria Quartet by Lawrence Durrell," and in 2006, she completed her doctoral dissertation on "The Literary Production of the 'Generation of the 1940s' and the Return to Lyrical Prose." She is a Lecturer in Modern Greek Philology at the Department of Philology at the School of Philosophy of the University of Crete. She served as the Director of Education at the Adult Education Center (KEE Rethymno), which operates under the supervision of the Institute of Lifelong Learning, from June 2005 to December 2005. From January 1999 to December 2000, she was a member of the team for the Cataloging Program "Portrait of Modern Hellenism" by Alexis Politis, aimed at compiling information on the lives and works of historical figures of the 18th and 19th centuries. She was a member of the Board of Directors of the Center for Cretan Literature, a renowned pan-Cretan association dedicated to the study of the works of Cretan authors from the vernacular Byzantine tradition and the Renaissance Venetian period to the present day (2011-2012). She was also a member of the judging panel for the 27th literary competition organized by the Municipality of Agios Nikolaos as part of the annual "Art and Literature" three-day event (November 2011). She has an extensive research and writing portfolio, including studies, articles, contributions to conference proceedings, book reviews, and participation in conferences. She is fluent in French and English and has basic knowledge of German, Spanish, and Italian.
