
Kostas Pasagiannis
Kostas Pasagiannis (1872-1933) was a folklorist, poet, and prose writer. He was born in Androuvitsa, Kardamyli. His father was a justice of the peace. Pasagiannis studied law and served as a justice of the peace in Xylokastro, Folegandros, Ithaca, and Corfu. In 1894, he published "The First Fairy Tales," followed by "Moskiés - Ethographic Maniot Stories" and "The Tsilikrota." He also published numerous travel stories and guides, such as "Sparta-Mystras," "The Ionian Islands," and "Attic Walks," establishing himself as a pioneer of "tourist literature" in Greece. Additionally, he wrote critical works, including "Mavilis." Pasagiannis contributed articles to newspapers and magazines like Akropolis, Estia, Nea Ellada, Neo Pneuma, Parnassos, Olympia, Charavgi Mytilinis, Mousa tis Zakynthou, Panathinaia, Noumas, and others. He passed away in Athens from a heart attack.
