Vasiliki Kompilakou was born in Athens in 1975. She studied History and Archaeology at the University of Athens and received her Ph.D. in 2011, focusing on the oral history of the National Resistance. She briefly worked in the archaeological service and spent 11 years at the Historical Archives of the Benaki Museum. She has written scholarly articles and papers on the period and has been awarded three times. She lives with her family in the Attica countryside and dreams of a school for children without "walls," free, where the teaching of human history flows like water.
