Giorgos P. Pefanis
Giorgos P. Pefanis was born in Athens in 1966. He studied psychology and educational sciences at the Maraslios Pedagogical Academy and philosophy at the School of Philosophy of the University of Athens. He pursued postgraduate studies in the philosophy of art and culture at the same school, earning his Ph.D. in 1995 with a focus on theater theory. Currently, he is a lecturer in the Department of Theatre Studies at the University of Athens and a theater critic. His research revolves around the philosophical approach to theatrical phenomena, dramaturgical theory, modern Greek dramaturgy, and contemporary European theater. He has published over 100 articles and studies in Greek and international literary and scientific journals. For several years, he was a scientific collaborator with the Research Center for Greek Folklore (K.E.E.L.) of the Academy of Athens, the National Theatre, and the School of Philosophy of the University of Athens.
