
Antonis Mpalasopoulos
Antonis Balasopoulos was born in 1970 in Thessaloniki. He studied English Philology at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and then continued his studies in English Literature and Comparative Literature at the University of Minnesota in the USA. Since 2001, he has been working, initially as a Lecturer and now as an Associate Professor of Comparative Literature, in the Department of English Studies at the University of Cyprus. He specializes in utopian literature from antiquity to the first half of the twentieth century, the relationship between utopia and modernism, political theory, philosophy, and critical theory. Since May 2019, he has been the Dean of the School of Humanities at the University of Cyprus.
