Lisa St Aubin De Terán

Lisa St Aubin de Terán (born 1953), a novelist and poet, lived for seven years in the Andes in Venezuela. She won the S.W. Maugham Award for her first novel, "Keepers of the House" (1982), and the John Llewellyn Rhys Prize for her second, "The Slow Train to Milan" (1983). She has written seven other novels, a poetry collection, two short story collections, and four biographies. Her largest novel, "Otto," was published in 2005. Much of her writing is rooted in her experiences in South America, combining dynamic storytelling with a strong sense of the mythical.
