Maria N. Ageli

Maria N. Aggeli was born in Vlyziana, Xiromero. She grew up in Machairas, Xiromero, Aetolia-Acarnania. She studied philology at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and holds a Ph.D. from the University of Ioannina. Her research interests focus on topics of Social Folklore. She is a founding member of the Center for Research in Local History and Culture of Aetolia-Acarnania (K.E.T.I.PO.AI.). She is also a member of the Oral History Association (E.P.I.), based in Volos. Maria participates in scientific conferences and contributes articles to local newspapers and scientific journals. She serves in Public Secondary Education and almost every year voluntarily undertakes Cultural Programs with her students. She lives and works in Agrinio and has a daughter.
