Maria Athanasopoulou

Maria Athanasopoulou was born in Athens. She studied Modern Greek Philology at the University of Crete and Comparative Literature at the Universities of London and Cambridge. She has taught at the Universities of Thessaly, Crete, Cyprus, and Patras. She is an Associate Professor of Modern Greek Literature and Literary Theory in the Department of Theatre at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Her articles and book reviews have been published in the journals "Kondyloforos," "Nea Estia," "Nea Poreia," "Periplous," "Poetry," "Simeio," and "Ylandron." She has translated Jeremy Hawthorn's handbook "Unlocking the Text: An Introduction to Literary Theory" into Greek.
