Rehnborg Chair in Disease Prevention at Stanford University, where he is a full professor at the School of Medicine and an honorary professor at the School of Humanities and Sciences. He has also served as a professor at the Universities of Ioannina, Harvard, Tufts, and Imperial College. Born in New York in 1965, he grew up in Athens. He worked on the composition of "Toccata for the Girl with the Burned Face" from 1989 to 2011. The "Variations on the Art of Fugue and a Desperate Ricercar" were written from 2010 to 2013.
