Richard Bessel

Richard Bessel is a Professor of 20th Century History at the University of York. His work focuses on the social and political history of modern Germany, the consequences of the two world wars, and the history of policing. He is a member of the editorial boards of the journals German History and History Today. Other works by him include: "Political Violence and the Rise of Nazism," "Germany after the First World War," and "Nazism and War."
