Charles Simic

Charles Simic was born in 1938 in Belgrade. His family immigrated to the United States in 1954. He has written and published over sixty books, twenty of which are poetry collections. In 1990, he was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for his book "The World Doesn't End." Additionally, in 2007, he received the Wallace Stevens Award and served as the 15th Poet Laureate of the United States. For the past thirty years, he has lived in New England. He is a regular contributor to the "New York Review of Books" and the magazine "Der Spiegel."
