Mark Rowlands

Mark Rowlands was born in Newport, Wales, in 1962. He studied philosophy at the University of Manchester and earned his PhD in philosophy from the University of Oxford. After teaching at various universities (in Britain, Ireland, and the United States), he is currently a professor of philosophy at the University of Miami. He is the author of several books, including: "Animal Rights: A Philosophical Defence" (1998), "The Body in Mind: Understanding Cognitive Processes" (1999), "The Nature of Consciousness" (2001), "Animals Like Us" (2002), "The Philosopher at the End of the Universe" (2003), "Body Language: Representing in Action" (2006), "The Philosopher and the Wolf" (2008) [Greek translation: Ο φιλόσοφος και ο λύκος, Εκδόσεις του Εικοστού Πρώτου, 2010], "The New Science of the Mind" (2010), "Can Animals be Moral?" (2012). His books have been translated into fifteen languages.
