Timothée de Fombelle

Timothée de Fombelle was born in the heart of Paris in 1973, but he often accompanied his father, who was an architect, on his travels to Africa. Every summer, his family would retreat to the countryside in western France, where the five siblings lived like wild horses, building treehouses, playing in the river, and getting lost in the woods. In the evenings, they would perform shows for their parents and devour the books in the library. For him, childhood remains a lost paradise that he rediscovers through writing. As a literature professor, he taught in Paris and Vietnam until he chose the bohemian life of the theater. An author of several plays, he writes, designs, constructs sets, and directs the actress he particularly admires, his wife Laetitia. They have a young daughter, Elisa, who already enjoys climbing trees.
