Eleni Mpirmpili
Eleni Birbili was born in Ano Valsamonero, a mountainous village in Crete, steeped in myths and legends. As a child, she spent countless hours on the rooftop of her family home, which overlooked the sea, gazing at the world from afar. This "from above" observation provided a perfect escape from the narrow confines of this close-knit society into the vast world of wonders. She began writing to capture this very sacred madness and ended up becoming an author, driven by an uncontrollable desire that has accompanied her since birth: to experience everything she assumes she wouldn't have time for, adopting a "politically correct" truth.
