
Lauren Groff
Lauren Groff was born on July 23, 1978, in Cooperstown, New York. She graduated from Amherst College and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her debut novel, "The Monsters of Templeton," was shortlisted for the Orange Award for New Writers and was recognized by Amazon.com and the San Francisco Chronicle as one of the best books. She has been featured on the New York Times bestseller list for her three books, "The Monsters of Templeton," "Arcadia," and "Fates and Furies," as well as her acclaimed short story collection, "Delicate Edible Birds." Her work has appeared in The New Yorker, Harper’s, The Atlantic, and several Best American Short Stories anthologies. She has won the Paul Bowles Prize for Fiction, the PEN/O. Henry Award, and the Pushcart Prize. She was a finalist for the National Book Award, the National Book Critics Circle Award, the Orange Award for New Writers, and the L.A. Times Book Prize.
