Marc Augé

Marc Augé
Marc Augé, who served as the president of the School for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences, is one of the most prominent contemporary anthropologists. After engaging with African perceptions of prophecies (Togo, Ivory Coast) and his theoretical analyses, he turned to the anthropological approach to our daily lives and contemplated the fate of the modern world. His significant works include the books: "La traversée de Luxembourg" (Hachette, 1985) and "Un ethnologue dans le métro" (Hachette, 1986).
