
Vaso Triantafyllidou - Kipourou
Vasso Triantafyllidou-Kipourou was born in Praggi, Didymoteicho. She lived there for only 10 years. In 1958, her family settled in Xanthi, in P. Zygo. She studied at the Harokopio Higher School of Home Economics (now Harokopio University) and returned to Xanthi, where she initially worked as a kindergarten teacher and later as a high school teacher in Drama, Xanthi, and Athens. After her retirement, she dedicated herself systematically to literature, particularly poetry. Her biography and bibliography have been included in the 23rd volume of the New Great Encyclopedia of Modern Greek Literature by Hari Patsi. She is also a member of the Union of Greek Writers.
In 2010, she was awarded the Second Prize for poetry collections at the 2nd International Panhellenic Literary Competition of E.P.O.K. (Hellenic Spiritual Association of Cypriots). To date, she has published the following four books: a) "Journey of Life" (Poetry), 2006, b) "Love is Patient..." (Poetry), 2009, c) "My Beloved Branch" (Poetry), 2010, d) "Angeliki is Lost!..." (Novel), 2011, e) "The Bitterest Goodbye" (Poetry), 2012, f) "The Gospel of Mark" (in free poetic rendition), 2013, g) "Litsa the Ladybug" (Children's Story), 2015, and h) "The Uprooting" (Novella), 2016.
