Kakia Paylidou

Kakia Paylidou
Kakia Pavlidou was born in Thessaloniki and grew up all over Greece, following the unique demands of her father's job (an employee at the Public Power Corporation in the high-voltage line construction department). The combination of high emotional tension and frequent relocations instilled in her a gypsy-like sense of escape, which she channeled into Poetry. She graduated from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She lives and works in Giannitsa. She was appointed to Secondary Education in 2002-03 as an IT teacher. She holds a permanent position at the Pella Gymnasium, where she is also responsible for the school newspaper. Since 2005, she has been actively involved with the Pella Book Friends Association. She has been writing since her teenage years. Her poems have been published in the local press of Pella, on blogs, in the "Poetic Anthology of Pella Prefecture" published by the Pella Book Friends Association in 2005, and in "Poetic Paths in Pella," published in 2009 by the Pedagogical Society of Pella. In 2010, her first poetry collection, "Drops of Emotions," was privately published. In 2012, the poetry collection "Feminine Nooses of the World" was released by Anemos Publications. In 2015, "Accomplice," a collection of short stories, was published by Ars Poetica. She contributed her short story "New Beginning" to the Short Story Anthology on the theme of migration titled "Hello Friend," published by Synchroni Epohi.
