Loukas Kousoulas

Lukas Kousoulas was born in Souvala (Polydroso) of Parnassos in 1929. He served in public secondary education as a teacher, principal, and school counselor. He made his literary debut in 1955 with poems published in the Thessaloniki magazine "New Course." He has published eight poetry collections (two comprehensive editions, "Schematicization," Kastaniotis 1984, and "The Poems," Domas 2003); the prose works "The Mountain," Estia 2003, and "The Black Eyes," Nefeli 1994; literary criticism essays "After the Philological," Kastaniotis 1983, "The Other Side," Lotos 1990, "Humans and Beasts...," Nefeli 1993, "Stories of Poems and a Letter," Gnosis 1996, "More Philosophical and Important," Domas 1992, "Makriyannis and the Scandal," Nefeli 2005; translations of ancient authors, Plato's "Ion," Kastaniotis 1993, Plutarch's "Parallel Lives," Vol. I, II, III, IV, Nefeli 1994-1996, Plutarch's "Parallel Lives," Patakis 1999, Plato's "Alcibiades" I and II, Polis 2001. He contributed to the newspapers "To Vima" and "I Kathimerini," as well as to the magazines "Nea Estia," "I Lexi," "To Dentro," "Planodion," among others. He passed away on May 15, 2019, at the age of 90.
