CHristos Skiadaresis

Christos Skiadaresis was born in 1973 in Athens and hails from Lefkada. He studied philology and pursued postgraduate studies in the History of Philosophy. Today, he teaches in private secondary education. Actively engaged in culture and literature, his writings have been published in numerous national literary and cultural publications, including "Ta Poiitika" by Kostas Papageorgiou and Titika Dimitroulia, "Pnoes Logou kai Technis," "Anti x Logou," "Nea Skepsi," "Noumas," "Nea Ariadni," "Iambos art," "Pnevmatiki Zoi," "Erevna Kallitheas," "Deukalion o Thessalos," "Kelaino," and "Antistrofes en logo elliniko," among others. His works have been featured in anthologies, newspapers, magazines, and online platforms. Since December 2016, he has been writing a weekly column titled "The Horn of Amalthea" for the online newspaper "Lefkaditika Nea." He has received awards and distinctions in numerous national and international literary competitions, such as those organized by the Panhellenic Union of Writers, the Society of Letters and Arts of Piraeus, the Society of Writers and Authors of Epirus, UNESCO Piraeus and Islands, UNESCO Kefallinia and Ithaca, the Municipality of Lake Plastira ("Antonis Samarakis competition"), the Hellenic Cultural Association of Cypriots, the Panhellenic Society of Literature and Art, the European Center for Art and Research of the Culture of the Eastern Roman State in Europe, the Cultural Association for the Preservation and Promotion of Eastern Romylia (Northern Thrace) of Nea Ionia Volos, the Friends of Greek Culture Group of Stuttgart, the Municipality of Salamina, the Society of Arts, Science, and Culture of Keratsini, and others. In 2012, he was shortlisted in the "Top 15" of the short story competition by Patakis Publications with the theme "Hotel Papadiamantis." The same year, he was distinguished in the shortlist of "Top 22" in the second International Short Story Literary Competition by the website "eyelands.gr." In May 2014, he was included in the shortlist of "Top 22" in the fourth "Antonis Samarakis" Short Story Literary Competition organized by the Municipality of Lake Plastira. From 2013 to 2014, he collaborated with "National Geographic" and successfully translated a series of significant works from the National Historical Archive. He has been listed in the "Great Encyclopedia of Modern Greek Literature from Byzantium to Today" by the European Publications Center "Haris Tzo Patsis." He is a member of judging panels in national literary competitions (such as those by the Society of Greek Writers) and participates in amateur theater groups. He has published five literary books. Three with Vergina Publications ("The Chrysanthemums of Love," erotic reflections, 2011, "Eros Pandamator," his first poetry collection, 2013, and "Essay - Critical Evaluation of the Literary Work of Panagiota Christopoulou - Zalone," philological critique, 2015), one with Bilieto Publications ("Suspense," poetry collection, 2014), and one with the European Publications Center Haris Tzo Patsis ("Loves Die Instantly," poetry collection, 2016). He is a member of the Society of Greek Writers and the Society of Lefkadian Studies.
