Alexandros Kosmatopoulos

Alexandros Kosmatopoulos was born in 1947 in Thessaloniki, where he currently resides (in the village of Melissochori). He studied English Philology at the University of Thessaloniki and works as an English teacher in Secondary Education. He made his literary debut in 1973 with poems published in the magazine "Dokimasia." He has published the following books: "Mikra Eisodos" (poems, 1978, under the pseudonym Alexandros Kosmas), "Ta Dio Foremata" (prose, 1982), "To Algos tis Afis" (prose, 1985), "Anavathmoi kai Stasima" (prose and poems, 1987), "Logos eis Nikos Gavriil Pentzikis" (study, 1988), "Taxidi stin Alexandroupoli" (narrative, 1994), "Erimos Lexi" (narrative, 1996), "O Pio Syntomos Dromos" (autobiography in the second person, 1999), "O Agros tou Aimatos" (novel, 2003), "Thiriomachia" (study, 2003), "Tote kai Pantote: Simeioseis stis Grafes tou Isaak tou Syrou" (study, 2007). He also prefaced and edited the publication of "Theonymia" by the Emperor of Nicaea, Theodore Doukas Laskaris. His writings have been published in numerous magazines, and one has been translated into German.
