Valerio Magrelli
Valerio Magrelli was born in Rome in 1957. He has published five poetry collections. The first three were compiled under the title "Poesie e altre poesie" ["Poems and Other Poems"] by Einaudi in 1996, followed by two more collections. Also published by the same publisher, his prose work "Nel condominio di carne" ["The Shared Flesh"] was released in 2003. He is a Professor of French Literature at the University of Cassino and has directed the poetry series for Guanda publishers and the trilingual series "Authors Translating Authors" for Einaudi publishers. In 2002, the National Academy of the Lincei awarded him the Feltrinelli Prize for Italian Poetry. His poetry collections include "Ora Serrata Retinae" ["For the Pupil of the Eye"] (Feltrinelli, Milan 1980), "Esercizi di Tiptologia" ["Exercises in Typtology"] (Mondadori, Milan 1992), "Di-dascalie per la lettura di un giornale" ["Teaching the Reading of a Newspaper"] (Einaudi 1999), and "Disturbi del sistema binario" ["Disorders of the Binary System"] (Einaudi 2006). His poems were published in the magazine Planodion, issue 43, December 2007.
