Karl Lagerfeld

Born in Germany, he later moved to the fashion capital, Paris. There, at the start of his career, he won an award for the "best coat" from the International Wool Secretariat (1955) and was hired by the house of Balmain. He worked with the houses of Patou, Chloe, and Krizia, but his talent truly shone when he revitalized the house of Chanel in 1983. He introduced a sporty style to the clothing and adorned even biker boots with the house's double CC symbol. The "Kaiser" of fashion (as some call him due to his German heritage) had the luxury, through the Chanel and Fendi lines, as well as his own eponymous and diffusion line "KL," to dress a wide range of personalities. This desire reached its peak with his collaboration with H&M in 2004.
