Philip Carlo

Philip Carlo grew up in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, amidst the largest concentration of Mafia members. His deep understanding of their culture, ways, and speech helped him become a successful author of true crime books. Among his avid readers are actors Robert De Niro, Mickey Rourke, and Joe Pesci. His book "The Ice Man" stayed on the U.S. bestseller list for 7 weeks, has been translated into numerous languages, and is expected to be adapted into a film soon. Other works include "The Night Stalker," "Gaspipe: Confessions of a Mafia Boss," "The Butcher: Anatomy of a Mafia Psychopath," and "The Killer Within: In the Company of Monsters." He passed away on November 13, 2010, in Manhattan.
